Disclosure statement
The following is the Disclosure Statement to comply with the Federal Trade Commission’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials 16 CFR Part 255. The following information was prepared and is valid from July 13, 2011, but may be modified in the future. This disclosure applies to this blog, La Gringa's Blogicito.
This website is a personal blog written and edited by me. The opinions expressed here are my own, except for the reader comments and the occasional guest blog which are clearly identified as such. My thoughts and opinions may change from time to time as a consequence of an open mind and a willingness to learn.
This blog does not accept any form of advertising, sponsorship, or paid insertions and I am not paid for "clicks" on anything on this blog. I write for my own purposes. However, I may be influenced by my background, occupation, religion, political beliefs, or experience.
In political matters, I consider myself independent, which means that at various times I may equally upset my US Republican and Democrat readers and my Honduran Liberal and Nacionalista readers.
I value my reputation and strongly believe in honesty and personal integrity. As a blog author, trust with readers is my most valued asset. I write what I believe and stand behind those words, or occasionally eat them.
The owner of this blog is not compensated to provide opinion on products, services, websites and various other topics. The views and opinions expressed on this blog are purely the blog owner's. If I claim or appear to be an expert on a certain topic or product or service area, I will only endorse products or services that I believe, based on my expertise or research, are worthy of such endorsement. Any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer or provider.
This blog does not contain any content which might present a conflict of interest.
Restaurant and other reviews
In the restaurant reviews on the site, we’ve paid for our meals. In cases where any portion of the meal or service was complimentary, I mention that in the post. Whether I receive anything or not has no influence on what I write about.
I occasionally feature Honduran stores or residential developments. I do so to inform my readers and receive no compensation for the articles.
The restaurant and other reviews on the site are intended for informational purposes since many visitors come to Honduras and want to know where to go. For that reason, I rarely mention restaurants in a negative light.
Privacy
I do not collect, store, share, sell, or use in any way, personal information such as names or email addresses. Your email address on comments will not be revealed to other readers. Some third party features on this blog, such as statistical counters, collect non-identifiable information such as your general location, type of computer, browser, IP address, etc., as most websites do these days.
Disqus commenting system uses “persistent cookies” to save your registration ID and login password for your convenience for future logins to the site.
Anonymous Tips
I appreciate tips and I respect and protect the privacy of anyone who provides information to me in the form of comments, emails, or any other form of communication. I generally assume that anyone doing so wishes to remain anonymous unless they tell me they would like to be credited by name or website.
You can send a tip or submit news to me by email.
Email subscription
Readers who subscribe to my Feedburner update will only receive new articles which have been posted to my blog. If you are getting the Blogicito daily updates, it is because you went through a double opt-in process to receive them. At the end of each update email is an unsubscribe link if readers wish to discontinue receiving it. The list of subscribers maintained by Feedburner is never shared or sold.
Comment policy
You can find my complete comment policy here.
I have a one strike and you are out policy toward spammers, cyber bullies, and extreme vulgarity. Life is too short to spend time dealing with people who use no common sense.
